Our Melba Dresses

Our 3 versions of the Melba Dress are made with linen from A+R Fabrics!

Leila's purple Melba is from 160gsm Mulberry linen, which is currently out of stock but is a recurring colour in the A+R Fabric lineup so it will likely be restocked.

My pink dress is 200gsm Hot Pink linen from A+R. The fabric is medium-weight but has a delightful heft while being buttery soft. The fabric is hefty enough to make lovely pants, so there might be matching Glebe Pants in my future!

The fabric from Leila's check dress is the A+R exclusive yarn-dyed Navy Check which is 160gsm.

This linen has a slight washed texture to it which gives it a wonderful casual vibe. It was a perfect match for a more relaxed-looking Melba Dress!

This pattern is designed for a variety of light to medium-weight woven (non-stretch) fabrics.

Future Melba

We love our linen Melba Dresses but cotton lawn, cotton poplin/shirting would make for a great summery dress to keep the sun off. A cotton ikat could be a great choice for an everyday dress that would hold up well to lots of wear!

We've both got fancy fancy Melba planned from silks I'm thinking about a silk noil Melba and Leila's got some of this lucious black sandwashed silk satin which would make her a very 'on brand' Melba that was delightfully slinky.

A Melba in tencel, cupro, viscose/viscose blends, or rayon/rayon blends would be versatile and would have great drape!
