Our new Willandra Pants pattern need fabric with a lot of drape!
Today we've rounded up some photos of our Willandra Pants and also some suggestions on what to look out for when you're fabric shopping!
Leila has a 54" hip and wears Size 1 in our Willandra Pants
Leila's gorgeous green Willandra Pants are made in a green viscose noil with a slightly sandwashed affect from Blackbird Fabrics in Canada. Unfortunately, that fabric is now sold-out but we think the 4.5oz and 6oz tencel from Blackbird Fabrics would work great here!

These plum-coloured Willandra Pants are made in MeetMILK Tencel Sanded Twill fabric in Maroon, which was purchased from Studio of Sewing in Auckland, New Zealand. The fabric has a slight sand-washed appearance, was lovely to sew with and is available in a range of colours.

These black pants are made from a textured tencel/viscose blend which is unfortunately no longer available from Blackbird Fabrics. If you like the idea of a textured crepe, Stonemountain Fabric has some lovely choices, like this green one which one of our testers used.

This dark green lightweight rayon has a subtle sandwashed sheen to it. This was a deadstock fabric find and there was enough leftover for a matching Nullarbor Cami.
Where do we shop for fabric?
Because Leila is based in Canada and I'm based in New Zealand, here's a few shops that we've ordered from ourselves, who stock appropriate fabrics for the Willandra Pants, and who we had a great experiences ordering from!
Australian and New Zealand based shops:
A+R Fabrics
MaaiDesign
Miss Maude NZ
Canadian based shops:
Blackbird Fabrics
Cutters and Cloth
Matchpoint Fabric
Mulberry & Macnab

Hi Debbie,
All of the patterns are PDF and they arrive as a computer file which you can have printed (either on to A4s which you tape together or you can get them printed on to large sheets at Warehouse stationary, through Studio of Sewing in Auckland or Niche Print in Wellington). All of the patterns list what kind of fabric we recommend on the pattern listing, but so far we have not released any patterns that we recommend for use with knit fabrics. Happy sewing!
Hello your pants pattern look great when we order them is a PDF a computer file or do they come as a paper pattern already printed. I live in Wanganui Nz. And can the patterns be used for knit fabric ? . Thankyou Debbie McDonnell
