Fabric for your Huon

Fabric for your Huon

We were thrilled to partner with Sister Mintaka for the release of our Huon Shirt and Dress. Leila and I were thrilled to get the chance to choose our fabrics from her shop for our sample garments!

The pattern is designed for use with lightweight woven fabrics. Lightweight linen, linen blends, cotton lawn, cotton voile, tencel, cupro, viscose crepe, silk noil, silk charmeuse, crepe de chine, georgette, or rayon challis would all be great.

Below, we've rounded up the fabric that we used for our versions and some other fabrics from the Sister Mintaka range which we think would look great!

The Sister Mintaka fabric we used

Leila used this gorgeous Blue Viscose Linen Slub for her Huon Dress and the colour is just as gorgeous in person as online!

I used a Zesty viscose linen slub for my Huon Dress. It sold out shortly after I received mine, but this Bubblegum Viscose Linen Slub would also be a lovely choice.

Leila snatched up this gorgeous cotton lawn which also sold out. Sister Mintaka has some other lawn which would also highlight the dramatic shape!

For my shirt version of the Huon, I used an Atelier Brunette viscose. The drape of this fabric highlights the romantic nature of the gathers and I know I'll get a tonne of wear from this shirt. Sister Mintaka has lots of great viscose fabrics.
